Syrie Crouch

Chief Executive Officer
Syrie is an experienced energy professional with 30 plus years of experience in the major International Energy Industry at Shell. Her most recent role was as the VP Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) supporting Shell’s Net Zero Emissions (CCS, DAC, biofuels, blue hydrogen and sectoral decarbonisation ambitions). She provides expertise in CCS strategy, portfolio prioritization and management, technology management and managing organization capability. Syrie brings a unique skillset in this space having managed a global portfolio of CCS projects but with a foundation in having delivered a working CCS project, as she took the Quest project in Canada through a public hearing and to FID in 2012, this project started- up in 2015 and has now injected over 8 million tonnes of CO2.

Professor Niall Mac Dowell PhD CEng FIChemE FRSC

Director of Science
Niall is a Professor of Energy Systems Engineering at Imperial College London, holding Chartered Engineer status and Fellowships in IChemE and the Royal Society of Chemistry. His research concentrates on the transition to a low carbon economy, with over 200 published papers, reports, and books. With over a decade of consulting experience for both public and private sectors, he advised UK Government’s BEIS, focusing on CCUS and GGR. Niall serves on advisory boards like TotalEnergies, NCCS, and Joule, and participated in various groups such as NPC CCUS Roadmap Team and ZEP. He’s also recognized for his scientific contributions, winning awards like Qatar Petroleum medal, IChemE’s Nicklin and Junior Moulton medals.

Sheila Graham

Director of Commercial
Sheila is the former Global GM of Commercial CCS at a major IOC, with 30+ years technical and commercial experience in the energy industry. She has extensive hands-on experience in defining commercial arrangements, and negotiating contracts across the CCS value chain.

Laura Hurley

Director of Policy
Laura is the former Head of GHG Removals in UK BEIS, with over 10 years in public service. During her time in government, she oversaw the development of the UK’s CDR strategy, and contributed to the UK’s net zero strategy.

Anthony Ku

Director of Technology
Anthony is the former Chief Technology Officer of a US-China clean tech incubator that developed and commercialized technologies in carbon management, H2 refueling, energy storage, and digital optimization of energy assets. He has over 20 years experience in industrial technology development and commercialization, and has delivered four products from lab to market across the energy, water, and aviation sectors. Anthony has been involved in the creation of end-to-end value chains, including the creation of innovative business models for clean energy technologies. He has been active in critical materials risk assessment and migitation since 2009, and has direct experience in helping companies navigate supply chain risk.
